Job description
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Conveyancing Assistant or Paralegal to join a well-established and highly regarded Residential Property team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with at least 1 year's previous experience in residential conveyancing who is looking to further their career within a supportive and progressive law firm.
The Role
Working closely with experienced fee earners, you'll play a key role in ensuring residential property transactions run smoothly from instruction through to completion. Your responsibilities will include:
• Supporting fee earners with a varied caseload of residential conveyancing matters
• Opening new files and preparing client care documentation
• Completing client questionnaires and carrying out onboarding procedures
• Liaising with clients, estate agents, lenders and third parties, providing regular updates throughout transactions
• Handling routine client enquiries and progressing matters under supervision
• Managing matter opening and completion data to ensure compliance and accurate reporting
• Assisting with completions and providing cover for fee earners during periods of absence, escalating urgent issues where appropriate
• Ensuring compliance with the SRA Code of Conduct, Solicitors' Accounts Rules and the firm's quality and risk management procedures
• Supporting the wider Residential Property team and contributing to the continued success and growth of the department
About You
You'll ideally have:
• A minimum of 1 year's previous experience working as a Conveyancing Assistant or Paralegal within Residential Property
• A solid understanding of the residential conveyancing process from instruction through to completion
• Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage a busy workload
• Strong communication and client care skills
• A proactive approach with excellent attention to detail
• The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
