The OpportunityWe are seeking an experienced Credit Controller to join our business on a 9-12 month fixed-term contract. This is an urgent requirement, and we are looking for someone who can start immediately and take ownership of the credit control function from day one.
Working as the sole Credit Controller within a small and supportive finance team, you will play a vital role in maintaining cash flow, managing customer accounts, and ensuring outstanding debts are collected efficiently and professionally.
This role is fully office-based and would suit a proactive individual who is confident working independently and building strong relationships with customers and internal stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
• Managing the end-to-end credit control process across a portfolio of customer accounts.
• Chasing outstanding debt by phone, email, and written correspondence.
• Maintaining accurate customer account records and resolving account queries.
• Monitoring aged debt reports and taking appropriate action to minimise overdue balances.
• Allocating incoming payments and reconciling customer accounts.
• Producing regular debtor reports for management.
• Investigating and resolving invoice disputes in a timely manner.
• Building strong relationships with customers to ensure prompt payment.
• Working closely with the wider finance team and operational stakeholders.
• Supporting month-end activities where required.
• Identifying opportunities to improve credit control processes and procedures.
About You
• Previous experience in a Credit Controller position.
• Proven track record of reducing aged debt and improving cash collection performance.
• Comfortable working as the sole Credit Controller and managing your own workload.
• Strong communication and negotiation skills.
• Ability to build effective relationships with both customers and internal teams.
• Good attention to detail and excellent organisational skills.
• Confident using finance systems and Microsoft Excel.
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritise effectively.
Essential Requirements

• Previous end-to-end credit control experience.
• Happy to work fully on-site.
