Job description

Credit Control Technician - Insurance Location: City of London Contract type: Permanent We are working with a leading global insurer that is looking to appoint a Credit Control Technician to its established finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with insurance credit control or IBA experience who enjoys taking ownership of their accounts, investigating discrepancies and building effective relationships across the business. The RoleYou will manage a designated portfolio of broker accounts and oversee the settlement process from initial invoicing through to collection and allocation. Working closely with brokers, underwriters and internal finance teams, you will help ensure balances are settled accurately and within agreed timeframes. Key Responsibilities • Managing and collecting outstanding balances from brokers and other third parties • Taking ownership of a dedicated ledger and monitoring aged debt • Investigating discrepancies involving premiums, commissions and taxes • Processing cashbacks and allocating incoming payments accurately • Producing and reconciling monthly broker statements • Providing stakeholders with regular updates on outstanding balances and settlement issues • Developing strong working relationships with brokers, underwriters and internal teams • Maintaining accurate records and supporting the company's financial controls • Escalating overdue or higher-risk balances where necessary Experience Required • Previous experience within insurance or financial services credit control, IBA or a closely related finance function • A good understanding of insurance premiums, settlements and broker accounts • Strong reconciliation and problem-solving skills • Confidence managing a busy ledger and working to settlement deadlines • A professional and persistent approach to debt collection • Good communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with brokers and underwriters • Intermediate Excel skills and experience using insurance accounting systems Why Apply?The successful candidate will join a respected global insurance business offering a collaborative working environment, exposure to a varied broker portfolio and a hybrid working pattern.
