Job Title: Customer Service Coordinator – European Transport & Logistics Location: North Kent Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 5:30pm (1-hour lunch break) Contract: Full-Time, Permanent Hybrid Working: One day per week working from home available after successful completion of the 6-month probation period. About the Role We are seeking an experienced and proactive Customer Service Coordinator to join our European Road Freight team. This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in transport, logistics, or freight forwarding who can provide outstanding customer service while coordinating European traffic movements. The successful candidate will act as the primary point of contact for customers, ensuring shipments are managed efficiently from booking through to delivery. Experience of European road freight operations and knowledge of groupage services, trailer types, and load configurations will be highly advantageous. Key Responsibilities • Manage customer enquiries, bookings, and shipment updates in a professional and timely manner. • Coordinate European transport movements, ensuring customer requirements are met. • Liaise daily with customers, hauliers, drivers, overseas agents, and internal departments. • Monitor the progress of shipments and proactively communicate any delays or issues. • Process transport documentation accurately and efficiently. • Provide customers with quotations and service information where required. • Ensure all customer records and job files are maintained accurately within the transport management system. • Investigate and resolve customer queries, delivery issues, and service concerns. • Track vehicle movements and delivery performance to ensure service levels are achieved. • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers and transport partners. • Support the wider operations team during periods of high volume and peak demand. • Ensure compliance with company procedures and transport regulations. Essential Requirements • Previous experience in a Customer Service Coordinator, Transport Coordinator, Freight Forwarding, or Logistics Customer Service role. • Strong understanding of European road freight operations. • Excellent communication and customer service skills. • Ability to prioritise workload and work effectively in a fast-paced environment. • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail. • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Outlook, Excel, and Word. • Ability to work independently and as part of a team. • Commercial awareness and a proactive approach to problem solving. Desirable Requirements • Knowledge of groupage, part loads, and full trailer loads (FTL). • Understanding of different trailer types and load configurations. • Experience working with European transport networks and overseas partners. • Knowledge of customs procedures and post-Brexit European freight requirements. • Experience using transport management systems (TMS).
