Job description

Shipping Coordinator • Job Type: Full-time • Location: Crawley • Salary: £30,000 to £35,000 We are recruiting for a Shipping Coordinator to join a busy and fast-paced operations team, playing a key role in ensuring all customer orders are delivered on time and in full. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating daily dispatch activities, booking shipments, preparing export and delivery documentation, and ensuring all orders are processed accurately and efficiently. This position requires close collaboration with internal teams, customers, suppliers and courier partners, handling both routine shipping requirements and more complex logistics enquiries. The role would suit a highly organised individual with strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills and previous experience within shipping, dispatch, logistics or supply chain operations. Day-to-day of the role: • Booking same-day couriers over the phone and via email. • Managing overnight dispatches on courier systems. • Liaising with couriers for collections and deliveries. • Managing the dispatch inbox, resolving internal and external queries from customers or suppliers. • Booking worldwide shipments and completing all necessary export documents. • Resolving any export document queries with couriers. • Ensuring clear and proactive communication with customers, couriers, and suppliers to guarantee timely deliveries. Required Skills & Qualifications: • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and over the telephone. • Customer-oriented attitude with the ability to work well under pressure. • High attention to detail with excellent time management and organizational skills. • Teamwork is crucial; must be able to work effectively with others. • Exposure to operations and sales functions is advantageous, as this role requires close liaison with both departments. • Sound knowledge of logistics processes. • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and MS Outlook or similar. • Good knowledge of CRM systems is beneficial. • A counterbalance license is desirable but not essential.
