Job description

Data Engineering Tech Lead Location: London (1 day per month onsite) Duration: Initial 6-Month Contract Pay Rate: £650 - £680 (Outside IR35) The Opportunity We're supporting a growing loyalty and rewards organisation that is continuing to expand its data capability following significant business growth. They are seeking a hands-on Data Engineering Tech Lead to provide technical leadership across their data platform, working closely with the Head of Data to drive architectural decisions, engineering standards and platform evolution. This is a technical leadership role rather than a people management position, with a strong focus on remaining hands-on with engineering and delivery. Key Responsibilities • Lead technical design and architecture across the data platform. • Provide guidance on engineering best practices and technical standards. • Conduct code reviews and support quality assurance activities. • Work closely with the Head of Data on technical decision-making. • Support the development and evolution of cloud data solutions. • Contribute directly to engineering delivery and implementation. Technical Environment • AWS • Snowflake • dbt Required Skills & Experience • Strong experience leading data engineering initiatives. • Deep expertise with AWS, Snowflake and dbt. • Strong understanding of modern data architecture and platform design. • Experience reviewing code and driving engineering best practices. • Ability to influence technical direction and architectural decisions. • Comfortable remaining hands-on while operating in a leadership capacity.
