The Depot Operations Manager RoleReporting into the Regional Operations Manager, you'll be responsible for leading the overall depot operation, ensuring services are delivered safely, efficiently and in full compliance with all transport and environmental legislation.
You'll oversee operational teams, manage budgets, develop staff and work closely with customers to maintain exceptional service standards while identifying opportunities to improve performance and profitability.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead and develop depot teams
• Manage operational performance and KPIs
• Oversee recruitment, onboarding and employee development
• Manage budgets and operational costs
• Ensure compliance with Operator Licence legislation
• Promote a positive health & safety culture
• Build strong customer relationships
• Coordinate fleet, workshop and third-party haulage providers
• Drive continuous improvement across depot operations
Depot Operations Manager Essential Skills
• CPC qualification
• Proven operational leadership experience
• Experience within waste management, logistics or a similar operational environment
• Strong people management and coaching skills
• Commercial awareness and budget management experience
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• Good IT skills
• Full UK Driving Licence
• LGV Class 2 licence desirable
