Diabetes Dietitian

We are seeking a creative and engaging educator who enjoys motivating others and can adapt learning to meet individual needs. A teaching qualification or experience delivering structured education programmes would be an advantage. As part of this role you will: • Develop, implement and evaluate specialist structured diabetes education programmes for people accessing the Diabetes and Endocrinology Department. • Deliver engaging group education sessions and provide individual education and planned follow-up to reinforce learning, evaluate understanding and support sustained behaviour change. • Promote self-management by supporting patients to develop the knowledge, skills and confidence to effectively manage their condition. • Deliver culturally sensitive education tailored to individual learning needs, preferences and health literacy. • Provide education on nutrition, diabetes management, medications, prevention of complications and healthy lifestyle behaviours. • Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to ensure education is embedded within clinical pathways and contributes to high-quality patient care. • Support service development through audit, quality improvement, evaluation of education programmes and implementation of evidence-based practice. • Participate in the clinical supervision of student dietitians and contribute to the education and development of colleagues where appropriate. • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of diabetes care, structured education standards and current national guidance. You will be encouraged to contribute to service improvement projects, audits and service evaluation, with opportunities to present your work locally and nationally.
