Job description

Director of Financial Control, Central London - £150,000 - £180,000 + bens + bonus We are partnering with an incredible UK-listed Financial Services and Real Estate giant to appoint a Director of Financial Control / Group Head of Financial Control. This is a critical leadership role offering the opportunity to shape financial governance, reporting excellence and control across a large and complex group structure. As a key member of the senior finance leadership team, you will provide strategic direction across financial control, reporting, accounting policy, tax, treasury and sustainability reporting. You will play a pivotal role in supporting executive decision making, strengthening governance, driving finance transformation and ensuring the highest standards of financial integrity. The Opportunity: This role offers enterprise-wide responsibility for financial control and reporting, overseeing activities from production of annual statutory accounts, Annual report, all other external reporting (IFRS), consolidation, financial control and reporting. Key responsibilities include: • Leading and developing a high-performing Financial Control function of approximately 15 professionals – with three direct reports • Owning the integrity, accuracy and completeness of the Group's financial records, ensuring robust month-end and year-end close processes. • Delivering high-quality group consolidation, statutory reporting and external financial disclosures. • Acting as the Group's technical accounting authority, providing leadership on complex and non-routine transactions. • Providing strategic oversight of tax, treasury, internal controls and sustainability reporting. • Leading relationships with external auditors and ensuring consistently strong audit outcomes. • Owning and enhancing the Group's internal control framework, ensuring strong governance, compliance and risk management. • Driving Financial Control workstreams within major finance transformation and ERP implementation programmes. • Partnering with the Group Finance Director, senior executives and Audit Committee to provide insight, challenge and assurance on financial stewardship and control effectiveness. About You: You will be an accomplished finance leader with a track record of operating successfully within a complex, multi-entity financial services or real estate organisation. • Significant senior leadership experience across Financial Control, Financial Reporting and/or Technical Accounting. • Must have experience in a FCA regulated environment • Deep technical accounting expertise and the ability to apply sound judgement to complex transactions. • Extensive experience managing audits and engaging with senior stakeholders, boards and governance committees. • Proven experience leading finance transformation, process improvement and ERP-enabled change. • The credibility and executive presence to influence at Board, Executive and Audit Committee level. • A leadership style that develops talent, promotes accountability and drives high performance.
