Driver / Administrator • Hourly Rate: £13.45 • Location: Sheffield • Job Type: Temporary, Full-time, Office-based We are seeking a Business Support Officer to join our team working in our mail room. This role is ideal for someone who is proficient in basic office duties and is comfortable operating mailing machines. A significant part of the role involves driving around the city for mail collection and delivery, so a full UK driving licence is essential. Day-to-day of the role: • Deliver, sort, allocate, and distribute incoming, internal, and outgoing physical and scanned mail and parcels, ensuring the security of information in accordance with standard operating procedures and Royal Mail or other appropriate requirements. • Operate equipment for printing, collation, franking, and digital scanning. • Support and contribute to keeping accurate and up-to-date records including data input, stock control, work logs, file management, and keeping information safe. • Undertake necessary training and development and support other team members and contractors with their induction and training. • Drive a Council vehicle as required by the service, complying with the Drivers Handbook and the SCC driving licence checking process. Perform appropriate vehicle checks and report any pending driving convictions including penalty points. You may also be required to undertake an internal driving assessment. • Be willing to work at any location and drive to locations within the city, and travel within and outside the city, to meet the requirements of the role. Required Skills & Qualifications: • Hold a Full UK Driving Licence. • Experience in handling office duties and operating mailing machines is preferred. • Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently and effectively. • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail. • Good communication skills and the ability to work well within a team.
