Job description

Driver Training & Development Manager | Transport & Logistics Sector Stanford-le-Hope We are recruiting for an experienced Driver Training & Development Manager to join a successful and growing transport operation. This is a key role responsible for leading driver training, development and compliance across the business, ensuring drivers operate safely, professionally and in line with company, customer and legal requirements. Working closely with Fleet, Operations, Compliance and HR teams, you will oversee driver onboarding, training programmes, driver performance improvement and safety initiatives across multiple depots. Key responsibilities: • Leading and developing driver training programmes across the business • Managing and supporting Lead Driver Trainers and Driver Mentors • Overseeing driver onboarding, assessments and probation sign-off • Monitoring driver performance, telematics alerts and compliance trends • Delivering coaching and refresher training to improve driver standards • Maintaining accurate training, CPC and compliance records • Supporting incident investigations and safety improvement initiatives • Producing KPI reports and identifying areas for continuous improvement What we're looking for: Valid Category C+E (Class 1) Driving Licence Valid Driver CPC and Tachograph Driver Trainer / Train the Trainer qualification (or equivalent) RHA Driver Assessor qualification (or equivalent) Strong knowledge of transport compliance and driver standards Experience coaching, mentoring and developing drivers Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail Ideally, candidates will have previous experience within the transport, logistics, haulage or fleet environment, with experience managing driver training, compliance, telematics, and operational improvement initiatives. Experience with systems such as Samsara, KPI reporting, and working across multiple depots would be highly advantageous.
