Electrician - HMP Ranby Location: HMP Ranby, Retford, Nottinghamshire Start Date: 3rd August Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:00am - 16:30pm Rate: £18.00 - £22.00 per hour (CIS) Contract: Temporary/Ongoing Job Overview We are currently seeking experienced Electricians to work on a project at HMP Ranby. This role will involve carrying out electrical installation, maintenance, upgrades, and testing works within a secure prison environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality electrical work while adhering to strict health and safety procedures and security protocols. Key Responsibilities • Installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems and equipment. • Testing, inspection, and fault-finding of electrical installations. • Installation of containment systems, wiring, lighting, and associated electrical components. • Reading and interpreting electrical drawings and specifications. • Ensuring all work is completed to current industry regulations and standards. • Maintaining accurate records of work completed. • Working safely and professionally within a secure prison environment. • Liaising with site management and other trades as required. Essential Requirements • NVQ Level 3 Electrical Installation or equivalent. • 18th Edition Wiring Regulations. • ECS/JIB Gold Card or equivalent. • Previous experience in commercial or industrial electrical installations. • Ability to work independently and as part of a team. • Strong understanding of health and safety regulations. • Own tools and PPE. Desirable Requirements • Previous experience working within prisons, secure facilities, or government sites. • TEL1 clearance • Testing & Inspection qualification (2391 or equivalent). • Security clearance or ability to pass prison vetting procedures. • Full UK Driving Licence.
