Job description

To undertake a variety of reception and administration duties to assist in the smooth running of the Practice and provide a high level of service to patients, doctors, nurses and other members of the Practice team. Main Duties • Make new and follow-up patient appointments in a timely manner using the IT system (EMIS web) • Receive and direct patients to the correct professional or service • Act as chaperone • Contact the interpretation service for patients as required • Maintain accurate records of patient care in electronic format using the correct codes • Prepare reception area for incoming colleagues, participate hand over between shifts • Take telephone messages and general enquiries, direct as necessary to GP • Process incoming and outgoing correspondence, including managing workflow tasks • Manage all queries (including administrative queries) as necessary in an efficient manner • Input data into the patient's healthcare records as necessary • Support the team in the effective use of searches, audits and recalls • Be aware of confidentiality and offer patients the opportunity to go to a confidentiality booth if they are distressed or imparting sensitive information General • Observe health and safety guidelines at all times • Participate in any training programme implemented by the Practice • Any other reasonable duties as necessary Job description Job responsibilities To undertake a variety of reception and administration duties to assist in the smooth running of the Practice and provide a high level of service to patients, doctors, nurses and other members of the Practice team.
