Welding TrainerLocation: North Yorkshire Job Type: Permanent, Full Time (37 hours per week) Salary: £25,000 - £37,000 per annum (dependent on experience and qualifications) The OpportunityWe are looking for an experienced and motivated Welding Trainer to join our growing Adult and Community Learning team. This is an excellent opportunity for an industry professional who is passionate about developing the next generation of skilled welders and fabricators. In this role, you will design, deliver and assess high-quality, industry-focused training programmes for adult learners. Working closely with employers, you will help learners develop practical welding and fabrication skills, along with the knowledge, behaviours and employability skills needed to succeed in today's engineering and manufacturing sectors. You will manage a caseload of learners, providing guidance, mentoring and ongoing assessment to support their progression into employment, further training or career advancement. Key Responsibilities • Plan and deliver engaging, high-quality welding training programmes. • Conduct learner inductions and initial assessments to identify individual learning needs. • Develop tailored learning plans that meet both learner and employer requirements. • Deliver practical and theory-based training to industry standards. • Assess learner progress and provide constructive feedback to support achievement. • Manage a caseload of learners, carrying out regular reviews and maintaining accurate records. • Build and maintain positive relationships with employers and external partners. • Monitor learner performance to ensure high levels of retention, achievement and compliance. • Promote a safe learning environment, ensuring all health and safety requirements are met. About YouTo be successful in this role, you will have: • A relevant Level 3 qualification (or above) in Welding, Fabrication or a related engineering discipline. • Current and relevant industry experience within welding and fabrication. • GCSE Maths and English at Grade 4/C or above (or equivalent). • Excellent technical knowledge and practical welding skills. • Strong communication and organisational skills. • Good ICT skills and the ability to use technology to support teaching and learning. • A genuine passion for developing others and supporting learner success. Teaching, training or assessing experience is desirable but not essential. If you do not already hold a teaching qualification, support will be provided to achieve one.
