Fabricator / Welder Location: County Durham Salary: Competitive + Overtime Available Job Type: Full-Time | Permanent The Opportunity We are currently seeking an experienced Fabricator / Welder to join a growing and well-established engineering business. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled individual who takes pride in producing high-quality fabricated products and working from detailed engineering drawings. The role involves the fabrication and assembly of bespoke metal components, working within a fast-paced workshop environment where quality, safety and attention to detail are paramount. Key Responsibilities • Read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications. • Fabricate and assemble bespoke metal components and structures. • Measure, mark out and prepare materials accurately. • Cut, shape and modify materials using workshop equipment and hand tools. • Carry out MIG welding to a high standard, including tacking and full welds. • Use power tools such as drills, grinders, polishers and riveters safely and effectively. • Complete finishing activities including grinding, polishing and deburring. • Inspect completed work to ensure it meets quality standards and customer requirements. • Adhere to all health & safety procedures and workshop standards. • Work independently and as part of a team to meet production deadlines. Skills & Experience Required • Proven experience as a Fabricator / Welder. • Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and blueprints. • Strong MIG welding experience across a variety of fabrication projects. • Experience working with sheet metal and fabricated components. • Excellent measuring and marking-out skills. • Strong understanding of fabrication techniques and metalworking processes. • Good mathematical ability and attention to detail. • Ability to work to a high standard with minimal supervision. • Reliable, hardworking and quality focused. Desirable • TIG welding experience. • Welding qualifications or coded welding experience. • Experience within bespoke fabrication or manufacturing environments.
