Job description
A leading engineering and manufacturing business is seeking an experienced Fabricator/Welder to join its production team. The role involves fabricating and welding high-quality metal components from engineering drawings, ensuring all products are manufactured to precise specifications and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
• Read and interpret 2D and 3D engineering drawings.
• Measure, mark out, fabricate and assemble metal components.
• Perform welding, grinding and finishing operations.
• Ensure all required parts and materials are available before assembly.
• Conduct quality inspections and complete quality documentation.
• Work in accordance with health and safety requirements at all times.
Beneficial Skills / Experience:
• Previous experience in a Fabricator/Welder position.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Experience working with mild steel, Zintec and galvanised sheet metal.
• Competent using fabrication and welding equipment.
• Welding qualifications/certifications would be advantageous.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Ability to work with large metal components in a manufacturing environment.
Working Hours
Days
• Monday – Thursday: 7:00am – 4:00pm
• Friday: 7:00am – 1:00pm
Afternoons
• Monday – Thursday: 2:00pm – 12:30am
• Includes a 20% shift allowance
The business is closed on Bank Holidays and operates a Christmas shutdown period.
