Facilities Electrical Technician

This is a temporary role with an immediate start, initially for 3 months, with the opportunity to become permanent. Located within easy commuting distance of North London, approximately 30 minutes by train or around an hour by car from Central London, this full-time position is Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 4:00pm and offers £17.52 per hour plus holiday pay (£32,000 equivalent). You'll join a friendly Estates team responsible for maintaining a busy specialist campus where animals form part of the day-to-day environment. Working alongside a supportive maintenance team, you'll carry out a varied mix of planned and reactive maintenance while delivering an excellent service to staff, students and visitors. Facilities Electrical Technician - Key Responsibilities: • Carry out planned and reactive electrical maintenance, fault finding and repairs across campus buildings • Maintain lighting, power supplies, electrical systems and associated building services equipment • Ensure all electrical maintenance complies with current regulations and Health & Safety standards • Liaise with colleagues, contractors and suppliers to deliver an efficient maintenance service • Maintain accurate maintenance records, manage spare parts and support the out-of-hours emergency rota • Support wider maintenance activities and work flexibly across different sites where required Facilities Electrical Technician - Key Skills: • NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, BTEC or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering with 18th Edition Wiring Regulations • Experience carrying out electrical maintenance, fault finding and repairs within commercial or similar environments • Good knowledge of HVAC systems, LV systems, pumps, boilers, AHUs and computerised maintenance management systems • Strong communication, customer service and problem-solving skills, with a proactive approach, a full UK manual driving licence, and confidence working in an environment where animals are present If you're looking for a varied maintenance role where you can make a real contribution and have the opportunity to secure a permanent position, we'd love to hear from you.
