Family Court Adviser, Qualified Social Worker – CAFCASS, West Midlands Pay rate to £37.75 per hour Contract role, Coventry Pertemps are recruiting for Children’s Social Workers to work within CAFCASS. This is for the Coventry area. Family Court Adviser Role Summary; • The Family Court Adviser role provides advanced social work support to children, families, and courts within family proceedings, ensuring the child’s welfare and safeguarding remain central to all decision-making. • The role involves assessing risk, analysing complex cases, advising courts on child protection and welfare concerns, and working directly with children and families to achieve positive outcomes. Applicants must hold a recognised Social Work qualification and have at least three years’ post-qualifying experience working with children and families. • Strong assessment, communication, negotiation, case management, and IT skills are essential, alongside the ability to work effectively under pressure and manage sensitive, high-conflict situations professionally WAFH (Work After First Hearing); • Involves work completed after the first hearing, including detailed assessments, direct work with children and families, report writing, and ongoing recommendations to support the court in achieving the best outcomes for the child. Private Law; • Cases involving disputes between parents or carers regarding child arrangements, such as contact or residence. FCA’s assess welfare concerns, provide safeguarding advice and support families to remain focused on the child’s needs. • CFC (Child Focused Court Model); • A model designed to ensure court proceedings remain centred on the needs, voice and lived experiences of the child. FCA’s work collaboratively with families, professionals, and the judiciary to reduce delay and achieve better outcomes for children through a more child centred approach.
