This role suits someone from practice or industry who enjoys variety and being closer to how businesses actually operate. As a Finance Assistant, you’ll be part of the ViFi delivery team, supporting multiple clients and helping run their day-to-day finance function. This is a hands-on, varied role with real responsibility and clear development opportunities. Key responsibilities • Processing and maintaining accurate bookkeeping in Xero • Assisting with VAT returns and reconciliations • Preparing balance sheet reconciliations • Supporting monthly management accounts preparation • Posting payroll journals and maintaining control accounts • Managing client finance inboxes (Accounts@ emails) • Dealing directly with suppliers and resolving queries • Making supplier payments and supporting payment runs • Dealing with customers regarding invoices and queries • Supporting credit control and cash collection • Responding to day-to-day client finance queries • Assisting with cashflow tracking and basic forecasting • Supporting improvements in processes, systems, and controls About You: We’re open to candidates from industry or practice, as long as you have a solid finance foundation and the right mindset. You’ll ideally have: • AAT Level 4 (will consider Level 3, studying for Level 4) • Experience in a finance assistant / accounts assistant role • Strong understanding of bookkeeping, double-entry, and reconciliations • Experience using Xero (or similar cloud accounting software) • Confidence communicating with suppliers, customers, and clients • Good organisation skills and attention to detail What you’ll be like: • Ability to develop trusting relationships with clients and colleagues, demonstrating professionalism, reliability, and genuine care. • Forward-thinking approach, keen to challenge the norm and suggest improvements that deliver smarter outcomes. • Confidence in owning your work, taking responsibility for quality and accuracy while escalating issues appropriately. • Collaborative mindset, contributing to a supportive team culture and sharing knowledge to help colleagues succeed. • Desire to support growth, actively building technical expertise while also mentoring more junior team members where appropriate. • Organised and proactive, able to manage workloads independently while balancing multiple client commitments. • Clear communicator, able to present financial information in a way that builds understanding and trust. • Resilient and adaptable, maintaining focus and professionalism when faced with challenges or deadlines. • Strong sense of commitment to clients, acting as a dependable part of their extended team and invested in their success. What we offer you: • Training Package and Learning opportunities • 28 days holiday (including bank holidays) plus 1 day added for each year of service (max 5 days) • Birthday day off every year • 4pm finish on a Friday • Staff parties and events • Streets social events • Free parking • Monthly staff treat day in the office • Workplace pension • Employee benefits scheme offering discounts from hundreds of retailers • Supportive and collaborative environment Apply now!
