We are seeking an experienced and commercially minded Finance Manager to join a successful, family-owned construction business based in Redditch. This is an exciting opportunity to join a well-established organisation that has experienced significant growth and is continuing to invest in its people and processes.
Reporting directly to the Commercial Director, this newly created role has been designed to strengthen the finance function and support the next phase of the company's growth. You'll take ownership of the finance department, manage a small team and play a key role in introducing monthly management accounts, improving financial reporting and providing meaningful commercial insight to the Directors.
This position offers broad exposure across the finance function and would suit someone who enjoys working in a hands-on environment where they can make a genuine impact on the business.
Key Responsibilities:
• Produce timely monthly management accounts and reporting packs for the Directors.
• Prepare cash flow forecasts, budgets and financial analysis to support business planning.
• Manage and support two Finance Administrators, overseeing the day-to-day finance function.
• Oversee purchase ledger, payroll, VAT, CIS returns and supplier payment processes.
• Act as the key contact for the company's external accountants, supporting quarterly reviews and year-end accounts.
• Support the Commercial Director with project performance reporting, budgeting and working capital management.
• Review and improve financial controls, reporting processes and efficiencies across the finance function.
Key Requirements:
• Previous experience within a Finance Manager, Management Accountant or similar senior finance position.
• Experience producing monthly management accounts and cash flow forecasting.
• Strong understanding of financial controls and management reporting.
• Previous experience managing or mentoring finance staff.
• Excellent Excel skills and experience using Sage 50 or similar accounting software.
• Good understanding of VAT, CIS and payroll processes.
• Commercially minded with the confidence to work closely with senior stakeholders.
• Experience within construction, engineering, manufacturing or another project-based environment would be advantageous.
