Financial Controller

Robert Half Finance and Accounting are currently looking to recruit a Financial Controller to join an exciting Engineering company experiencing huge growth based in Avonmouth. For the right person the client is offering a very competitive: £75,000 - £85,000 plus 15% bonus, hybrid working and wider benefits package Role responsibilities will include but not limited to: • Prepare and publish timely monthly financial statements including a robust forecast, reporting all variances against budget • Ensure a full and complete balance sheet review is carried out monthly • Monitor and report finance departmental KPIs, ensuring corrective actions are implemented where performance falls below target • Manage and develop the finance team • Promote a high-performance, accountable, and collaborative finance culture • Manage all accounting operations including AR, AP and GL whilst maintaining ownership of ERP and associated finance systems • Drive process standardisation, automation and continuous improvement initiatives that enhance scalability, reporting capability and financial controls • Preparation of monthly management and annual accounts, ensuring any bank reporting and HMRC submission requirements are adhered to • Lead the annual budgeting process and periodic reforecasting • Ensure forecasts are robust, data-driven, and aligned to operational activity • Coordinate and direct the annual audit process within the business • Provide financial insight, challenge and support to business unit leaders and project teams • Translate financial information into clear commercial recommendations, supporting decision-making, margin improvement, cost control and strategic growth initiatives • Ensure robust project accounting, forecasting, revenue recognition and margin reporting across all projects Person specification: • Qualified (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) • Strong technical accounting experience with familiarity around IFRS • Currently operating at a Financial Controller or Senior Finance Manager level with line management responsibility • Demonstrable experience with process and systems improvements • Excellent communicator across all levels of a business £75,000 - £85,000 plus 15% bonus, hybrid working and wider benefits package Robert Half Ltd acts as an employment business for temporary positions and an employment agency for permanent positions.
