Job description

NXTGEN are exclusively working with a successful and well-established organisation who are looking to appoint a technically mindedFinance Controller to join their finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified or part-qualified accountant to take ownership of consolidated reporting, financial controls and governance across multiple UK sites. The role offers strong technical exposure across group reporting, audit, SOX compliance and transactional finance leadership, making it ideal for an accountant looking for a varied role within a complex, multi-site environment. Key responsibilities will include: • Preparing monthly consolidated financial statements and supporting wider group reporting requirements. • Managing intercompany reconciliations, group adjustments and supporting audit processes. • Leading AR, AP and Finance Assistant teams, ensuring efficient transactional finance operations. • Overseeing balance sheet reconciliations, financial controls and compliance with UK GAAP/IFRS. • Supporting SOX compliance activities, including control testing, documentation and improvements. • Driving process improvements, system enhancements and automation initiatives across finance. The successful candidate will be a technically strong accountant with experience across financial reporting, controls and team leadership. You will ideally be ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified (or a finalist), with knowledge of audit processes, SOX compliance and strong Excel/ERP skills. You will be detail-focused, proactive and confident building relationships across multiple teams and locations.
