Hays are delighted to be recruiting for a talented Financial Planning Analyst (FP&A) to join a manufacturing business based in Bournemouth. Reporting to the Head of Finance, this is a key role that will provide financial insight, planning and analysis to support strategic decision-making and maintain strong financial controls, whilst supporting future growth.
The Opportunity
As the Financial Planning Analyst, you will work closely with Finance, Operations, Procurement, Production and Commercial teams to deliver high-quality financial planning, forecasting and performance analysis. You will play a critical role in supporting profitability, operational efficiency, cash generation and long-term financial strategy.
This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified finance professional who enjoys partnering with stakeholders, building robust financial models and driving continuous improvement within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead the annual budgeting process and monthly reforecasting cycles.
• Produce rolling forecasts across P&L, Balance Sheet and Cash Flow.
• Develop and maintain long-term financial models and strategic plans (3-5 year plans).
• Analyse business performance against budgets, forecasts and prior-year results.
• Partner with operational teams to support production forecasting and business performance.
• Monitor and improve working capital performance, including inventory, receivables and payables.
• Prepare detailed cash flow forecasts and support liquidity planning.
• Identify opportunities to improve cash generation and financial efficiency.
• Support tax forecasting, R&D tax calculations and work alongside external tax advisors where required.
• Support investment appraisals, ROI analysis and business case evaluations.
• Drive improvements in financial planning processes, reporting and data integrity.
• Support ERP and business intelligence reporting enhancements.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
• ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualification.
• Previous experience in financial planning, budgeting and forecasting.
• Manufacturing or engineering sector experience would be advantageous.
• Strong analytical and commercial acumen.
• Experience presenting financial information to senior stakeholders.
• Excellent communication and business partnering skills.
• A proactive, organised and detail-oriented approach.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and the capability to manage multiple priorities.
• A commitment to continuous improvement and process enhancement.
