SEN Class Teacher - Functional Skills • Annual Salary: M6 • Location: Crawley • Job Type: Permanent • Full time - Monday to Friday 8.30am to 5pm • To start - September • SEN of students - Autism We are seeking a dedicated SEN Teacher to join our team at a vibrant school. This role involves working with a small class of 5 KS3 pupils who are working towards Functional Skills Level Awards, as they are currently at least 2 years behind national expectations. Day-to-day of the role: • Deliver tailored educational activities to a class of up to 8 pupils with special educational needs, focusing on Functional Skills Level Awards. • Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that accommodate the individual needs and learning styles of each student. • Monitor and assess the progress of pupils, adapting teaching methods and materials to meet their evolving needs. • Collaborate with other teaching staff, parents, and external agencies to support the overall development and well-being of pupils. • Create a supportive, inclusive, and safe learning environment that encourages pupils to engage in the learning process and achieve their potential. Required Skills & Qualifications: • Proven experience as an SEN Teacher, ideally within KS3 educational settings. • Strong understanding of the challenges faced by students who are significantly behind national expectations. • Ability to create and adapt teaching materials and assessments to meet the needs of pupils with varying abilities. • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with students, staff, and parents. • A patient, compassionate, and resilient approach to teaching and student interaction.
