Geography Teacher (Maternity Cover) Location: Barnoldswick, Lancashire Start Date: September 2026 Contract Type: Fixed-term (12 months) Salary: MPS/UPS (dependent on experience) About the Role: We are seeking an enthusiastic and committed Teacher of Geography to join a welcoming and supportive mainstream secondary school in Barnoldswick on a 12-month maternity cover contract, starting in September 2026. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate educator to inspire students across Key Stages 3 and 4 delivering engaging and high-quality geography lessons. You will be part of a dedicated humanities department with a strong focus on student achievement and curriculum development. Key Responsibilities: • Plan and deliver engaging and differentiated Geography lessons in line with the national curriculum • Monitor, assess, and track student progress, providing timely feedback • Contribute to a positive learning environment that supports all students to succeed • Work collaboratively with department colleagues and contribute to departmental planning • Uphold high expectations of behaviour and achievement The Candidate Must Have: • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) • A degree in Geography or a related subject • Experience teaching Geography at secondary level (including ECTs welcome to apply) • Strong classroom management skills and a passion for teaching • A commitment to raising standards and improving outcomes for all students How to Apply: If you are an enthusiastic Geography teacher looking for a rewarding opportunity from September 2026, we would love to hear from you.
