Job description

As Head of Procurement, you will ensure the organisation achieves optimal value, performance and risk management from external suppliers by developing a strategic procurement strategy that enables operational delivery, financial sustainability and long-term business growth. Your impact will be felt in creating organisation-wide procurement leadership, improving supplier sourcing, governance and management to strength William Reed's commercial performance and sustainable business outcomes. During the first 5 months, regular travel may be required to our Gatwick office. This role will require some occasional travel to our London Bridge office. What You’ll Be Doing • Developing and maintaining the organisation's procurement strategy and operating approach to ensure third-party expenditure delivers optimal value, supports organisational objectives, and aligns with financial and operational priorities • Leading the organisation's approach to supplier relationships and contract management to achieve expected performance, service, value and risk outcomes while supporting long-term resilience • Establishing and overseeing procurement governance, policies and commercial controls that facilitate effective decision-making, manage supplier and supplier chain risk, and meet regulatory and compliance requirements • Providing expert procurement and commercial advice to senior stakeholders to empower strategic initiatives, investment choices and business priorities • Developing effective relationships with internal stakeholders and external suppliers to influence procurement practices, sourcing decisions and commercial outcomes through expertise, credibility and collaboration • Enhancing procurement capability, frameworks and operating models that support evolving organisational requirements and future business growth What You’ll Need • Broad and authoritative expertise in procurement, commercial management, supplier relationship management and procurement governance • Strong understanding of sourcing strategies, contract management, supplier markets, commercial risk and value optimisation • Demonstratable experience in developing procurement capability, frameworks and operating approaches • Knowledge of financial, operational and regulatory considerations relevant to procurement activities • Ability to provide strategic procurement guidance and commercial insight to inform decisions • Collaborative approach to building relationships and influencing internal stakeholders, and in creating long-term strategic partnerships with external suppliers • Ability to oversee and effectively manage third-party expenditure, and use procurement systems, tools and data framework to support efficient management, reporting and decision-making Benefits & Initiatives • Generous annual leave –25 days plus standard England and Wales bank holidays for full-time employees • Long service holiday reward – Receive an extra day's annual leave for each year of service after six years, up to a maximum of 30 days plus bank holidays for full-time colleagues • Christmas office closure – Enjoy additional paid leave between Christmas Day and New Year's Day to cover discretionary office closure days • Holiday purchase scheme – Buy up to three additional days' annual leave each year and spread the cost over up to six months • MeDay – Take an additional paid day off to celebrate your birthday, a cultural or religious event, or another occasion that is meaningful to you • Volunteering day – One paid day each year to support a charity, community group or cause close to your heart • Hybrid and agile working – Flexible ways of working to help you balance work and life commitments (role dependent) • Enhanced pension contributions – Benefit from employer pension contributions above the statutory minimum • Life assurance – Providing financial protection and peace of mind for you and your loved ones • Group Income Protection – Financial support if you're unable to work due to long-term illness or injury • Family-friendly policies – Enhanced pay entitlements to support you and your family during important life events • Health and wellbeing support, including: • Healthcare cash plan • Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) • Virtual GP service • Health and wellbeing resources and tools • Commitment to Equity, Diversity and Inclusion – Supported by employee-led networks, with a culture where everyone feels welcome and valued.
