Head of Property Surveying
Location: London (Office & Site Based)

Reports to: Operations Manager
We are working with a fantastic Property Management Organisation to appoint a Head of Property Surveying, to lead their Property Management team and deliver exceptional service across a diverse residential property portfolio.
As Head of Property Surveying, you will oversee property inspections, compliance management, contractor performance and customer service delivery across multiple developments. You will also lead and develop a team of Property Inspectors, ensuring inspections are completed to a consistently high standard and all identified issues are effectively resolved.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Team Management
• Lead, supervise and develop a team of Property Inspectors.
• Ensure inspection programmes are delivered in line with agreed frequencies and service standards.
• Drive continuous improvement across surveying and inspection processes.
• Support the Operations Manager with escalated issues and complaints.
Property Inspections & Compliance
• Conduct detailed site inspections and prepare comprehensive property reports.
• Identify maintenance, repair and compliance issues across managed developments.
• Raise and monitor works orders to ensure timely resolution.
• Work closely with compliance teams to ensure appropriate maintenance contracts are in place.
• Stay up to date with relevant health and safety and property legislation.
Contractor Management
• Appoint, negotiate with and manage contractors and specialist suppliers.
• Review contracts, RAMS and health and safety documentation.
• Monitor contractor performance and ensure works are completed to the required standard.
Stakeholder Engagement
• Attend resident meetings and provide professional advice and support.
• Build strong relationships with clients, leaseholders and residents.
• Manage complex property-related matters through to successful resolution.
• Liaise with utility providers, surveyors and other external stakeholders as required.
Operational Support
• Assist with major works projects and property-related investigations.
• Support repossessions, lease inspections and tribunal notice distributions when required.
• Work collaboratively with finance, compliance, repairs and maintenance teams.
• Act as a key point of contact for out-of-hours property issues.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
• A minimum of 5 years' property management experience, including experience in a similar leadership position.
• Strong knowledge of residential block management and property compliance.
• Excellent people management and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Experience using Qube property management software (desirable).
• MTPI qualification (desirable).
