About the job:
A leading FCA-regulated financial services organisation is seeking an experienced Head of Risk to lead and enhance its enterprise risk management framework.
This is a high-profile leadership opportunity to shape the organisation's risk strategy, governance framework and operational resilience agenda, while working closely with Executive leadership and the Board.
Key responsibilities include:
• Leading the development and continuous improvement of the Enterprise Risk Management Framework.
• Designing and embedding a risk-based governance programme across the business.
• Developing risk identification, assessment, mitigation and monitoring processes.
• Owning the Risk Appetite Framework, Risk Registers and Board reporting.
• Partnering with senior stakeholders to ensure risk is embedded into strategic decision-making.
• Leading the organisation's Operational Resilience strategy and framework.
• Overseeing incident management, root cause analysis and control improvements.
• Working closely with Internal Audit to ensure effective oversight of key risks.
• Producing insightful reporting for Executive Committees and the Board.
• Driving a strong, positive risk culture across the organisation.
• Leading and developing a high-performing risk team.
About You:
We're looking for an experienced risk professional who can demonstrate:
• A strong background in Enterprise Risk, Operational Risk, Governance or Risk & Compliance leadership.
• Experience working within an FCA-regulated environment (Insurance would be an advantage)
• Strong knowledge of enterprise risk frameworks and governance best practice.
• Experience leading Operational Resilience programmes.
• Understanding of SMCR, AML and wider regulatory requirements.
• The ability to influence, challenge and engage senior stakeholders at Executive and Board level.
• Proven leadership experience with the ability to build and develop successful teams.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
