Head of Service (Continuous Improvement and Quality) Rate: £500 per day (Inside IR35, umbrella) Duration: Until December 2026 Working Pattern: Hybrid Start: ASAP About the Role We are seeking an experienced Head of Service (Continuous Improvement and Quality) to join a Children's and Education Services Senior Leadership Team. This is a strategic leadership opportunity focused on driving continuous improvement, quality assurance and performance across Children's and Education Services. Working closely with schools, education settings, partner organisations and senior leaders, you will lead the development of evidence-based services that deliver positive outcomes for children, young people and families. Key Responsibilities • Provide strategic leadership for continuous improvement, quality assurance and performance across Children's and Education Services • Drive a culture of learning, accountability and service excellence through the use of data, insight and evidence • Lead the monitoring and evaluation of service performance, identifying opportunities for improvement • Strengthen partnerships with schools, education providers and key stakeholders to improve outcomes • Develop and implement quality improvement strategies aligned with statutory responsibilities and corporate priorities • Support inspection readiness and ensure services continue to meet high standards of performance • Influence organisational change and embed a culture of continuous improvement across services • Work collaboratively with senior leaders and multi-agency partners to deliver strategic priorities Key Requirements • Significant senior leadership experience within Children's Services, Education or a comparable public sector environment • Strong background in quality improvement, performance management and continuous improvement • Proven ability to use data, performance information and insight to drive service improvement • Experience working strategically with schools, education settings and multi-agency partners • Strong understanding of Children's Services, Education and statutory responsibilities • Excellent leadership, stakeholder management and influencing skills • A collaborative, innovative and outcomes-focused approach to service delivery • Passion for improving outcomes for children, young people and families
