Job description

Spencer Clarke Group are seeking a Housing Income and Corporate Debt Officer for a local authority in Folkestone. In this role, you will administer Business Rates accounts, maximise council revenue and deliver an efficient, customer-focused service. Duties: • Administer Business Rates accounts, including billing, reliefs, exemptions, refunds and account amendments. • Manage customer enquiries and provide accurate advice in line with current legislation and council procedures. • Maintain property and account records, liaising with internal teams and external organisations such as the Valuation Office Agency. • Support the collection and recovery of Business Rates income through effective case management and debt recovery processes. Qualifications and Experience: • Recent experience in Business Rates, Revenues or a similar administrative/customer service role. • Good working knowledge of Business Rates legislation and administration. • Experience using Microsoft Office and revenue management systems (e.g. NEC/NDR) is desirable. • Strong organisational, communication and customer service skills with excellent attention to detail.
