Housing Options Officer Solihull | £28 per hour (Umbrella) PAYE rate available | 37 hours per week | 12-week contract with potential extension Are you an experienced Housing Options Officer looking for your next interim opportunity? We're recruiting for a busy frontline Homeless Services Team, supporting individuals and families experiencing homelessness. This role offers the chance to make a real difference by preventing homelessness, providing housing advice, and helping vulnerable residents secure sustainable accommodation. What You'll Be Doing • Managing a caseload of homelessness applications from initial contact through to resolution. • Conducting homelessness assessments and interviews. • Making statutory decisions in line with the Housing Act 1996 and Homelessness Reduction Act 2017. • Creating and reviewing Personalised Housing Plans (PHPs). • Providing housing advice, support, and homelessness prevention solutions. • Working with landlords, housing providers, support agencies, and internal teams to secure positive outcomes. • Supporting customers with complex needs, including mental health, domestic abuse, substance misuse, and family breakdown. What We're Looking For Experience making statutory homelessness decisions Strong knowledge of homelessness legislation and case management Ability to manage complex caseloads in a fast-paced environment Excellent communication and customer service skills Proactive, resilient, and solution-focused approach Desirable: • Experience using Housing Jigsaw and/or Open Housing • CIH qualification or equivalent housing experience Working Arrangements • Contract: Until 9 October 2026 (initial 12 weeks) • Office attendance required approximately 2 days per week • Travel across the district may be required • Access to a vehicle is preferred
