Job description

Our client is a well-established organisation entering an exciting period of growth, and they are looking for an experienced, proactive and ambitious Payroll Administrator to join their expanding team. If you thrive in a busy environment, enjoy taking ownership and want to be part of a supportive, forward-thinking business, this role offers an exciting next step. Reporting directly to the Finance Manager, you’ll be a key player in delivering a smooth, accurate and timely payroll service across the organisation. You’ll be trusted to manage core payroll processes, support employees with clear guidance, and work closely with HR and Finance to keep everything running seamlessly. Key Responsibilities • Providing information and answering employee questions about payroll matters • Managing electronic timekeeping systems or manually collecting and reviewing timesheets • Calculating payable hours, commissions, bonuses, tax withholdings and deductions • Preparing and issuing earnings statements • Issuing payslips and managing direct deposits • Maintaining employee records • Coordinating with HR to ensure correct employee data • Providing administrative assistance to the accounting department • External reporting to HMRC As a successful candidate you will bring experience from a payroll or customer-focused role, strong numerical skills and exceptional attention to detail. You’re confident working independently, communicating clearly and managing a varied workload with ease. Experience using payroll software or working towards a CIPP qualification is beneficial, but not essential — the right attitude matters most. In return the company offers a competitive remuneration package, ongoing training and support, genuine opportunities for progression to Payroll Team Leader, and the flexibility of hybrid working — all within a growing organisation that values its people.
