Manages electronic diaries for Lead Consultant Critical Care, Critical Care Matron (s) other Critical Care Consultants. Arrange appointments, meetings, annual leave, study leave etc. Uses own initiative to identify and allocate time slots required by others. Monitor Consultant annual leave and study leave on CLW/Other systems. Understands the complex interplay of Critical Care Consultants timetables and diaries and uses own judgement to provide the most appropriate time management solution.
Responsibility for compiling Critical Care Consultant rotas for commitments within Critical Care, Theatre and on-call duties. Coordinates this at short notice with demands such as annual leave, study leave, meetings etc., to assure required provision of clinical services.
Sole administration responsibility for management of patient follow up clinics, booking patients onto clinic on, monitoring patients discharge, managing and arranging patients appointments liaising with GPs, patients relatives and other external agencies as required. Prepare necessary documentation in advance of appointment that is carried out by a member of the Critical Care Senior Nursing Team.
Produce a yearly critical care clinical rota for all the critical care consultants to facilitate the clinical running of the critical care service. Source and fill rota gaps when they occur caused by staff shortages, sickness and annual leave. Entering and keeping the rota up to date on the CLW/other relevant rota systems.
