Role OverviewWe are seeking an experienced and motivated Immigration Paralegal to join a busy and growing legal team in Luton. This is an excellent opportunity for a candidate with immigration experience who is looking to develop their expertise and gain further qualifying work experience (QWE) towards solicitor qualification.
The successful candidate will support solicitors and fee earners across a broad range of personal and business immigration matters, providing high-quality legal assistance and client support.
Key Responsibilities
• Supporting fee earners on a range of UK immigration matters, including:
• Skilled Worker applications
• Sponsor Licence applications
• Global Business Mobility routes
• Indefinite Leave to Remain (ILR)
• Naturalisation applications
• Other personal and business immigration matters
• Preparing detailed immigration application packs and supporting documentation.
• Conducting legal research using Immigration Rules, Home Office guidance, and relevant case law.
• Drafting client correspondence, legal submissions, and supporting documents.
• Reviewing client documentation and assessing eligibility requirements.
• Liaising with clients to obtain information, provide updates, and manage expectations.
• Assisting with case progression and ensuring deadlines are met.
• Maintaining accurate case records and complying with internal procedures.
• Supporting solicitors with general case management and administrative tasks.
Candidate Requirements
• Previous experience working within UK immigration law (ideally 6 months+).
• Strong understanding of UK immigration processes and Home Office requirements.
• Excellent legal research and drafting skills.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple deadlines.
• Confident communicator with strong client care skills.
• Ability to work effectively within a busy legal team.
• Commitment to developing a long-term career in immigration law.
Desirable Experience
• Experience preparing visa applications and supporting evidence.
• Experience with business immigration matters.
• Experience working within a law firm or regulated legal environment.
• SQE1/SQE2 completed or currently working towards solicitor qualification.
