Interim Head of Property Compliance, Health & Safety
North West | Interim Assignment | 3-6 Months
£400-£500 per day
We are partnering with one of the largest housing providers in the North West to appoint an experienced Interim Head of Property Compliance, Health & Safety on an initial 3-6 month contract.
This is a key leadership role with responsibility for ensuring a robust approach to property compliance, resident safety and health & safety management across a sizeable housing portfolio. Working closely with senior leaders, you will provide assurance that statutory obligations are being met, risks are effectively managed, and a strong culture of safety is maintained throughout the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead the organisation's property compliance, building safety and health & safety functions.
• Provide strategic and operational oversight of landlord compliance areas including gas, electrical, fire, asbestos, water hygiene and lifting equipment.
• Ensure effective health & safety management systems, policies and procedures are in place and operating effectively.
• Drive compliance performance, identifying and mitigating operational and regulatory risks.
• Oversee safety audits, inspections, investigations and compliance reporting.
• Support the executive team and board with compliance assurance, risk management and performance reporting.
• Work closely with asset management, repairs and operational teams to promote a positive safety culture and continuous improvement.
• Manage relationships with contractors, consultants and regulatory bodies to ensure high standards of service delivery and compliance.
About You
• Significant experience leading property compliance, health & safety or building safety functions within a housing association, local authority or similar regulated environment.
• Strong understanding of social housing compliance requirements and resident safety obligations.
• Proven track record of developing and embedding effective safety management systems and compliance frameworks.
• Experience advising senior leadership teams and boards on risk, assurance and regulatory compliance.
• Strong leadership, stakeholder engagement and change management skills.
