We are partnering with a Headteacher in Berkshire to find an Interim Assistant Headteacher (Inclusion). Following a recent successful Ofsted grading and strong trust-level support, the leadership team is currently undergoing an exciting restructure. This role has been created to bridge the gap from September through to December 2026, with fantastic potential to transition into a permanent leadership role for the right candidate. About the Role This is a non-class-based leadership position designed for someone who wants to make an immediate, tangible difference. You will work side-by-side with a visionary Headteacher as a key strategic partner, helping to shape the future of the school's inclusive practices. The school features high levels of SEND, including a dedicated resource provision and internal provisions. You will spearhead inclusion, coach teachers to elevate classroom practice, and ensure that SEND provision operates at the highest possible standard. What We Are Looking For • Strong SEND Knowledge: Deep understanding of effective SEND strategies and provision, ideally backed by the NASENCO qualification (though not essential). • Leadership Experience: Proven track record in a school leadership capacity with the ability to sustain high expectations. • Relationship Builder: Exceptional emotional intelligence, capable of building trusting, positive partnerships with staff, the wider trust, and local families. • Resilience & Vision: A collaborative leader who thrives in a dynamic environment and is eager to support a compassionate, driven Headteacher. Why Apply? • Attractive Remuneration: Competitive salary package on the leadership scale (£53k-£66k). • Career Growth: Part of a growing, supportive trust offering immense professional development and potential for a permanent role. • Immediate Impact: Step into a well-supported school with a clear vision and strong momentum.
