Robert Walters is partnering with an established Food & Beverage business in London to recruit an Inventory & Stock Controller. This is a hands-on role responsible for maintaining accurate inventory records, coordinating purchasing activities, and ensuring stock availability across the operation.
Working closely with kitchen, operations, and suppliers, you will play a key role in controlling stock movements, supporting purchasing processes, and driving inventory accuracy.
Key Responsibilities
• Maintain accurate inventory records and ensure all stock transactions are recorded correctly within the ERP system.
• Monitor stock levels and proactively manage replenishment requirements to avoid shortages and overstocking.
• Raise and process purchase orders in line with approved purchasing requirements.
• Liaise with suppliers to place orders, track deliveries, and resolve any discrepancies.
• Verify goods received against purchase orders and supplier documentation.
• Process goods receipts and maintain accurate stock records.
• Manage inventory movements, including transfers, returns, adjustments, and stock issues.
• Conduct regular stock counts and cycle counts, reconciling system stock against physical inventory.
• Investigate inventory variances and implement corrective actions where required.
• Monitor damaged, expired, and obsolete stock, supporting waste reduction initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with internal stock control procedures and inventory management best practices.
Requirements
• Previous experience in inventory control, purchasing, or stock management within a Food & Beverage, Hospitality, Retail, or FMCG environment.
• Strong understanding of inventory management principles and purchasing processes.
• Experience using ERP, inventory, or stock management systems.
• Excellent attention to detail, organisation, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to build effective relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
