Job description

We're working with an established organisation that is looking to appoint an experienced IT Infrastructure Engineer to join its internal technology team. This is a hands-on technical role supporting and developing a modern infrastructure environment across on-premise and cloud platforms. You'll act as the senior technical escalation point for complex issues while helping to deliver infrastructure improvements and ensuring critical business systems remain secure, stable and highly available. Key responsibilities • Provide 3rd line technical support across infrastructure, servers, networking and end-user technologies. • Act as the senior escalation point for complex technical incidents and problems. • Support and maintain Microsoft server environments and virtual infrastructure. • Administer cloud services within AWS. • Maintain Active Directory, Microsoft 365 and core identity services. • Support wired and wireless network infrastructure. • Investigate recurring technical issues and implement permanent solutions. • Contribute to infrastructure upgrades, migrations and business change projects. • Ensure changes are completed in line with ITIL best practice. • Maintain accurate technical documentation and asset records. • Work closely with internal stakeholders and external technology partners. • Mentor junior members of the IT team where required. • Participate in an on-call rota. Skills and experienceWe're interested in candidates with experience across a number of the following technologies: • Microsoft Windows Server • Microsoft 365 • Active Directory • AWS • Hyper-V or other virtualisation technologies • Networking including switching, routing and wireless technologies • Desktop and endpoint support • ITIL or structured service management environments About youYou'll be someone who enjoys solving technical problems, takes ownership of issues and is comfortable working independently as well as within a collaborative IT team. Strong communication skills, a proactive approach and the ability to prioritise a varied workload are all important.
