Please refer to full Job description & person spec attached. Key Tasks: To lead the nursing team in the provision of high quality, research based, nursing care that is patient and family focused. To act as a role model and expert practitioner. To manage the ward effectively and efficiently within allocated resources. To manage and facilitate the development of staff creating an effective team. To foster a multidisciplinary approach to patient care in line with Clinical Governance Main Duties and Responsibilities: 1 Clinical 1.1 To ensure high quality, research based, individualised patient care is maintained at all times. 1.2 To provide a problem solving approach to patient care 1.3 To ensure effective collaboration and discharge planning with all members of the multidisciplinary team and interested agencies 1.4 To act as a role model and expert practitioner at all times. 1.5 To work with Infection Control to monitor the ward environment to maintain and raise standards 1.6 To work with the Matron to ensure that clinical governance processes at ward level encompass measures to ensure the quality of the fundamental and essential aspects of care including use of Essence of Care Benchmarking.
