Job description

As a Sister/Charge Nurse you will be responsible for providing effective nursing leadership to a team of nurses working within the Emergency Department. You will be expected to take charge of the department, coordinating the day to day activities with will provide you with the opportunity to develop your managerial and shift leader skills. The successful applicant will be required to work and manage all areas within the department and demonstrate a professional manner, clinical expertise with good communication skills in all aspects of their work. You must be comfortable working in a busy environment juggling the different demands typical of a nursing role like this and must possess the courage to do what is right for our patients. As committed as you will be to doing the best for your patients, we are just as committed to helping you to get the most out of your role. This is an exciting time of change within the department, with a new senior team in place, and a number of new initiatives underway, including a Development Programme for all staff with clear training and continuing professional development plans, and the joint working with the front door departments.
