Change Lives.New Chapter Tuition is proud to be working exclusively with a specialist vocational education provision to recruit a Learning Mentor for a full-time, permanent role. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a growing specialist provision supporting learners from KS3-KS5 with SEMH, ADHD, emotional and behavioural needs, and those who have experienced trauma. Through practical, hands-on vocational learning, you'll help learners rebuild confidence, re-engage with education and develop the skills they need to succeed in further education and employment. The RoleAs a Learning Mentor, you will: • Build positive, trusting relationships with learners. • Deliver engaging vocational learning on a 1:1 basis and in small groups of up to 8 learners. • Support learners with SEMH, ADHD, SEND and additional behavioural needs. • Use effective de-escalation techniques and positive behaviour management strategies. • Create a calm, structured and inclusive learning environment. • Promote confidence, resilience, independence and positive engagement. • Work collaboratively with colleagues, families and external professionals to achieve positive learner outcomes. About YouThis role would particularly suit candidates with experience as a: • Learning and Behaviour Mentor • Sports Coach • Youth Worker • Mechanic or Engineer • Cadet or Forces • Vocational Instructor • Alternative Provision Practitioner To be successful, you'll have: • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills. • Experience supporting children and young people. • Experience working with learners with SEMH, ADHD, SEND or challenging behaviour. • Strong de-escalation and behaviour management skills. • A trauma-informed, nurturing and relationship-led approach. • A genuine passion for helping young people achieve their potential. Experience within mechanics, engineering or vocational learning is advantageous but not essential.
