Job description

Legal Counsel Location: Central London Contract Type: Permanent, Full-time Salary: Competitive Join a leading organisation within the leisure, sports, and events sector, operating across a diverse portfolio that includes hospitality, leisure venues, and live events. This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified Legal Counsel to work alongside senior leadership, providing legal support across a wide-ranging remit including commercial and media contracts, compliance, and contract management. Day-to-day of the role: • Review, draft, and negotiate a variety of commercial contracts, focusing on media rights, distribution, licensing, and technical matters. • Provide legal management and support for a range of retail and online betting partner relationships in the UK and internationally. • Offer legal support to business stakeholders on a broad range of matters including real estate, NDAs, sponsorship, and service agreements. • Support operational venues with negotiating and drafting contracting requirements related to events, sponsorship, venue hire, brandpartnerships, marketing, licensing, and more. • Assist with legal matters affecting the wider group and its subsidiaries, including managing external legal counsel where required. Required Skills & Qualifications: • Qualified lawyer with 4-5 years PQE (Post-Qualification Experience), ideally with experience in commercial, media, or technology law, either in private practice or in-house, and preferably both. • Experience in media rights licensing would be advantageous. • Strong technical legal drafting skills with clear and concise communication. • Commercially minded with strong problem-solving ability. • Able to work autonomously, take initiative, and manage workload effectively. • Excellent interpersonal skills to build relationships across a range of stakeholders.
