Due to continued growth within the Scottish operation, an exciting opportunity has arisen for a Multimodal Operator to join a high-performing team. The Role Reporting directly to the Branch Manager, you'll be responsible for managing sea freight import and export shipments from booking through to final delivery. You'll work closely with customers, overseas partners, hauliers, shipping lines, customs authorities, and internal teams to ensure cargo moves efficiently and compliantly. Key Responsibilities • Manage import and export sea freight shipments from booking through to delivery • Liaise with customers, overseas agents, shipping lines, hauliers and suppliers • Monitor shipments and proactively resolve operational issues • Coordinate customs clearance and ensure shipping documentation is completed accurately • Maintain shipment milestones and records within the company's operating system • Provide regular updates and exceptional customer service throughout the shipment lifecycle • Arrange UK transport and final deliveries • Complete job costing, invoicing and supplier cost checks • Ensure compliance with customer SOPs and industry regulations • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers and logistics partners What We're Looking For Essential • Previous experience within freight forwarding • Strong understanding of sea freight imports and exports • Experience managing shipments from start to finish • Excellent customer service and relationship management skills • Strong organisational and prioritisation abilities • High attention to detail • Effective communication and problem-solving skills Desirable • Experience using CargoWise or a similar freight management system • Knowledge of customs processes and compliance requirements What's in It for You? • Healthcare plan • Employee Assistance Programme • Enhanced annual leave • Cycle to Work scheme • Gym and lifestyle discounts • Employee rewards and recognition programmes • Ongoing training and professional development • Genuine career progression opportunities • Modern, technology-driven working environment • A supportive and collaborative team culture Apply Today To find out more or apply in confidence, contact Ian Reynolds at Reed Recruitment Edinburgh for a confidential discussion, or submit your CV today.
