Job description

We are looking for a capable, proactive Maintenance Assistant to support the Property Manager at a beautiful heritage-listed private estate in Totteridge, North London. This is a hands-on role for a true jack-of-all-trades, someone who spots what needs doing and gets on with it, and who is equally comfortable picking up a paintbrush or jumping in a car to drive the family. Working alongside an established management couple of eight years, you will be the person who keeps the day-to-day practical side of the property running smoothly. The family have young children and value a discreet, well-presented presence in their home. Key Responsibilities • General property maintenance: carpentry, minor repairs, painting • Outdoor furniture care: jet washing, oiling and seasonal upkeep • Vehicles: cleaning, maintenance and MOTs • Occasionally assisting with driving duties • Equipment maintenance: bikes, golf cart, sports equipment • Shopping, errands and logistics • Dog walking and vet / grooming appointments • Event setup and support • Assisting the groundsman when needed The Ideal Candidate • Strong practical background – carpentry experience advantageous • Good awareness of household systems (plumbing, electrics, A/V) – not required to be an expert, but observant and proactive • Clean, full UK driving licence – confident driving principal and family • Well-presented and comfortable engaging directly with the principal • Self-starter with a keen eye for detail and a ‘get it done’ attitude • Previous private household or estate experience preferred Salary: £40,000 – £50,000 GPA Start: ASAP Job Ref: SB2492
