Job description

Pertemps Daventry is recruiting on behalf of a well-established manufacturing client for an experienced Maintenance Engineer to join their growing maintenance team. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled engineer looking to secure a long-term position within a busy manufacturing environment. You'll play a key role in keeping production running by maintaining plant machinery, responding to breakdowns, and carrying out planned preventative maintenance. If you're a proactive engineer with strong fault-finding skills and a passion for continuous improvement, we'd love to hear from you. What You'll Be Doing • Responding quickly to machinery breakdowns to minimise production downtime. • Diagnosing faults and carrying out effective repairs on plant and production equipment. • Completing planned preventative maintenance (PPM) to agreed schedules. • Identifying root causes of recurring faults and recommending continuous improvement solutions. • Performing routine inspections and safety checks across site equipment. • Supporting the installation and maintenance of manufacturing machinery. • Supervising contractors and ensuring all work is completed in line with health and safety procedures. • Working closely with production teams to ensure equipment reliability. • Supporting and mentoring colleagues where required. What We're Looking For • A recognised engineering qualification such as an Apprenticeship, BTEC, City & Guilds, or NVQ Level 3. • Previous maintenance engineering experience within a manufacturing or industrial environment. • Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills. • Experience working with mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, or pneumatic systems. • A proactive approach with excellent problem-solving skills. • Ability to work independently and as part of a team. • Strong communication skills and attention to detail. • Experience with crane systems would be advantageous but is not essential.
