Mechanical Assembler - Temp-to-Perm (Rotating Shifts, Mon-Fri) Location: Buntingford (on-site) - onsite car parking available Pay: £14.00 per hour + overtime at £21.00 per hour (time and a half) Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday Start: Immediate start Job type: Temp-to-perm HR GO Recruitment are recruiting on behalf of our client for an experienced Mechanical Assembler to join a busy production team in Buntingford. This is a stable temp-to-perm role with consistent weekday hours, training/development, onsite free parking, and excellent earning potential through overtime and shift premiums. Shifts (rotating early/late) • Early shift: 07:30 - 16:00 • Late shift: 13:00 - 22:00 • You will start on the early shift initially, then rotate early/late once the late shift is introduced. • Late shift premium:£1.50 per hour for hours worked after 16:00 on the late shift. Key responsibilities • Assemble mechanical components and sub-assemblies accurately to specification • Read and follow assembly drawings, work instructions and BOMs (Bills of Materials) • Use hand tools, power tools and basic measuring equipment • Carry out quality checks to ensure tolerance and finish requirements are met • Report non-conformances and support corrective actions • Complete assembly records/paperwork as required • Follow H&S procedures and maintain a clean, tidy work area Requirements (must-have) • Previous experience in mechanical assembly (or similar manufacturing/assembly role) • Able to read basic engineering/assembly drawings and follow written instructions • Good mechanical aptitude, manual dexterity and attention to detail • Reliable/punctual and able to work rotating early and late shifts (Mon-Fri) • Comfortable standing for long periods and doing light to moderate lifting • Good communication skills and a team-focused approach Nice-to-have • Experience using measuring tools (e.g., verniers/calipers) • Experience working with BOMs and production paperwork • Any relevant technical/manufacturing qualification What's on offer • Temp-to-perm opportunity with potential for a permanent role • £14.00 per hour; overtime paid at £21.00 per hour (time and a half) • £1.50 per hour shift premium after 16:00 on the late shift • Monday-Friday working (40 hours/week) • Training and skills development • Onsite car parking available • Immediate start HRGO Recruitment offers permanent and temporary jobs across the UK.
