Job description

Innova Search is currently partnering with a highly respected bespoke machinery manufacturer to secure a Mechanical Engineer on a permanent basis. This is a dedicated, internal-facing technical role designed for a mechanical specialist who excels in equipment diagnosis, Solidworks, quality assurance, and technical workshop support. Working with a highly successful and established product range, you will act as the key technical link between engineering documentation and physical assembly. Key Responsibilities: • Technical Assessment & Diagnosis: Conduct through technical evaluations of returning machinery to determine refurbishment requirements against original equipment manufacturer (OEM) specifications. • 3D CAD: Via Solidworks, produce assembly and manufacturing drawings using (GD&T) and (DFMA), CAD Models, for in 3D Solid Works & PDM, information and documentation • Workshop Technical Liaison: Provide engineering support and clarity to workshop technicians and assembly fitters, resolving technical queries regarding tolerances and drawing interpretations. • Quality Assurance & Compliance: Review completed refurbishments to ensure total alignment with established engineering drawings, standards, and bill of materials (BOM). • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Interface with the internal Design, Quality, and Customer Service departments to streamline the refurbishment workflow and ensure operational efficiency. Experience Required: • Mechanical Expertise: A strong background in mechanical engineering, with demonstrable experience working with heavy machinery, rotating equipment, hydraulics, or complex mechanical assemblies. • Technical Literacy: Exceptional ability to interpret and work from complex 2D and 3D engineering drawings and technical documentation. • Analytical Diagnostic Skills: A logical, proven track record in mechanical troubleshooting, root-cause identification of component wear, and defining corrective action plans. • Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey precise technical instructions to workshop personnel and internal stakeholders.
