Job description

In this role, you will: • Provide high-quality, evidence-based midwifery care throughout pregnancy, labour, birth and the postnatal period. • Assess, plan, implement and evaluate individualised care for women, birthing people and their babies. • Promote informed choice, advocacy and person-centred care, ensuring families feel supported and empowered throughout their maternity journey. • Work autonomously within professional guidelines while recognising when to seek support and escalation. • Support both low-risk and complex pregnancies, collaborating closely with obstetric, neonatal and wider multidisciplinary colleagues. • Respond effectively to changing clinical situations and emergencies, ensuring safe and timely care. • Act as a positive role model, supporting, supervising and mentoring student midwives, newly qualified colleagues and support staff. • Contribute to quality improvement initiatives, audits, patient safety activities and service development projects. • Maintain accurate clinical records and ensure high standards of professional practice in line with the NMC Code.
