Mobile Plant Fitter

Market 36 Recruitment are currently recruiting for a Workshop-Based Mobile Plant Fitter on behalf of our client based in Essex on a Permanent basis. Roles & Responsibilities • Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical and hydraulic faults on a wide range of plant machinery. • Carry out routine servicing, preventative maintenance and breakdown repairs. • Complete Pre-Delivery Inspections (PDI) and PAT testing where required. • Attend customer sites across Essex and the surrounding counties to carry out repairs and servicing. • Use computer diagnostic equipment to identify faults and complete repairs efficiently. • Maintain accurate service reports and maintenance records. • Ensure all work is carried out in line with manufacturer guidelines and company procedures. • Inspect equipment to ensure it is safe, fully operational and ready for use. • Follow all Health & Safety procedures and safe working practices. • Work effectively within the workshop team and independently whilst on-site. Additional Responsibilities • Work on a variety of leading plant machinery brands including JCB, Komatsu, Bomag, Thwaites, Hamm, Powerscreen, John Deere and Bell. • Maintain and repair equipment including excavators, dumpers, crushers, screeners, wheeled loaders, generators, water pumps, hydraulic attachments, compaction equipment and lifting equipment. • Carry out both workshop-based and mobile service work as business requirements dictate. • Assist with maintaining a clean, organised and safe workshop environment. Experience, Skills & Qualifications • Minimum of 5 years' experience as a Mobile Plant Fitter, Plant Engineer or similar. • Strong mechanical, hydraulic and electrical fault-finding experience. • Competent using computer diagnostic equipment. • Experience servicing and repairing heavy plant machinery. • Full clean UK Driving Licence. • Own tools are essential. • Excellent attention to detail with accurate record keeping. • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure. • Reliable, self-motivated and able to work effectively as part of a team. • Good understanding of Health & Safety requirements within a workshop and site environment.
