Job description

Location: Hertfordshire/North London base, with regular UK travel Package: Competitive salary, performance-related bonus and car allowance Hours: Full-time Abbeygate Search is partnering with a growing international business that provides technology-led equipment and ongoing service solutions to major organisations across the UK. With significant growth anticipated over the coming years, the business is looking to appoint a Senior National Account Manager to take ownership of several of its most commercially important customer relationships. This is a high-profile role for someone who can operate comfortably with senior decision-makers while coordinating the operational detail required to deliver complex, multi-site customer programmes. You will have the opportunity to shape the national account approach, influence commercial strategy and play an important part in the company’s continued UK expansion. The roleYou will: • Take commercial ownership of strategically important national customer accounts. • Build trusted relationships with procurement, commercial and operational leaders, including director and board-level contacts. • Create clear account strategies covering growth, retention and long-term partnership opportunities. • Lead negotiations around pricing, renewals, service agreements and longer-term commercial arrangements. • Identify opportunities to expand services, introduce additional solutions and support wider customer rollouts. • Deliver strategic account reviews, forecasts and performance updates internally and externally. • Work closely with service, installation, technical and operational teams to ensure successful customer delivery. • Act as a senior escalation point for significant commercial or service-related matters. • Monitor market developments and customer priorities, using that insight to inform commercial strategy. • Provide guidance and support to less experienced account-management colleagues where appropriate. • Represent the business at customer meetings, industry events and relevant forums. What we are looking forYou will need: • Strong experience managing large, complex national or strategic accounts. • A background in B2B equipment, technology, managed services or another solutions-led environment. • Experience working with major retail, hospitality or similarly complex multi-site customers. • A demonstrable record of negotiating high-value contracts, renewals and commercial agreements. • Strong commercial and financial understanding, with the ability to structure profitable long-term partnerships. • Confidence communicating and presenting at director and board level. • The ability to develop account strategy rather than simply maintain existing relationships. • Excellent organisation, communication and stakeholder-management skills. • A proactive, self-sufficient approach and the ability to manage a valuable account portfolio with limited supervision. • A full UK driving licence and flexibility to travel nationally. Experience within sustainability, environmental services or a market undergoing regulatory change would be advantageous but is not essential. What is on offer • Competitive base salary. • Performance-related bonus or commission. • Company car or car allowance. • 25 days’ annual leave plus bank holidays. • Pension scheme. • A visible and influential position within a growing international business. • The opportunity to shape major national customer partnerships during an important period of expansion.
